Growth partner investment
Some owners do not want to sell, and do not want to raise money either. The Growth Partner model is Ali's answer for Canadian companies with proven demand and revenue between roughly $500K and $30M: his team embeds across marketing, sales, operations, finance and technology, paid by revenue share, equity or a hybrid retainer plus bonus.
What you leave with
You have a working partner with a stake in the outcome and a team of specialists inside your business.
Who it is for
- Owners of profitable BC companies with demand they cannot fully serve
- Founders who need senior marketing, technology and operations capability without hiring executives
- Owners planning an exit who want to grow the value first and share the upside
What we deliver
- A growth diagnostic across marketing, sales, operations, finance and technology
- A partnership structure: revenue share, equity or hybrid, documented with your lawyer and CPA
- Ali in a fractional CMO or CTO seat, with specialists joining by function
- A growth plan with milestones that compensation is measured against
- An exit path for the partnership itself, so everyone knows how it ends
How it runs
01Fit
A Strategy Session tests whether the business has proven demand, the right size and an owner who wants a partner.
02Diagnostic
We look under the hood: unit economics, pipeline, systems, team and where growth is leaking.
03Agreement
We propose a structure and milestones and document them with your lawyer and CPA.
04Embed and grow
Ali and the team join by function, build and run the growth plan and are paid as it works.
Engagement and fees
Starts with a 90-minute Strategy Session at $499. Partnership compensation is revenue share, equity or a hybrid retainer plus bonus, agreed per company. We never charge by the hour. Every engagement is scoped after a call and confirmed in writing. See consultations and fees.
Why this model exists
Ali has founded eight companies since 2007. The pattern he kept seeing in BC was a profitable company with real demand, an exhausted owner and no way to afford the executives and specialists it needed to grow. Consultants billed hours and left. Agencies optimised their own metrics. Investors wanted control. The Growth Partner model puts a senior team inside the business and ties their pay to the result, so the incentives of the owner and the partner point the same way.
What embedding actually looks like
It is not a monthly report. Ali takes a fractional CMO or CTO seat, attends your management meetings and owns outcomes. Specialists in finance, operations, sales systems, data, marketing, technology and development join by function, do the work and hand it over to your team with the systems built. Your people learn alongside them. The scope follows the growth plan: fix the sales pipeline first, then the delivery bottleneck, then the finance reporting that will later let you sell the business at a better multiple.
Who it is for, and who it is not for
It is for owners of companies with proven demand, revenue roughly between $500K and $30M, a willingness to let a partner into the room. It is not for startups without customers, for owners who want a vendor they can switch off or for businesses whose problem is a market that has moved on. We say no more often than yes, because a partnership that is not a fit costs both sides years. The first session is where we find out.

Questions about this service
How is this different from hiring a consultant?
A consultant is paid for time and leaves. A growth partner is paid for results, stays through execution and has a stake in the outcome. The team does the work inside your business rather than recommending it from outside.
Do you take control of the company?
No. You remain the owner and the decision maker. The partnership agreement sets out roles, decision rights and what happens if either side wants out. Equity, where it is part of the structure, is a minority position agreed with your lawyer.
What does revenue share mean in practice?
A percentage of revenue, or of growth above an agreed baseline, paid as the business earns it. The exact structure depends on margins and the work involved and is documented up front.
Can this lead to a sale of the business?
Often that is the point. Growing revenue, cleaning up systems and building a team that runs without the owner are exactly what raise value at exit. When the time comes, BizSell.ca can run the sale.
